Rachael Hovan
Rachael Hovan obtained her Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Alberta in 2014, and was admitted to the Alberta bar in 2019. In the time between law school and being called to the bar, Rachael volunteered and worked at the Mediation and Restorative Justice Centre (MRJC), a not-for-profit organization in Edmonton providing alternative dispute resolution services to those experiencing personal, organizational, or community conflict. While comfortable in a Courtroom, Rachael’s time at MRJC taught her that there are many ways to resolve a dispute, and she uses that experience when approaching high conflict situations for her clients.
Prior to attending law school, Rachael graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta School of Business in 2011, with a focus on international business and business law. She studied abroad in Pamplona, Spain for a semester during her undergraduate degree.
Rachael’s areas of practice include condominium collections and foreclosure, bylaw enforcement, governance, and general condominium advice.
Rachael has sat on the Board of Directors for the McDougall House Association since January 2020. She is currently the Vice-Chair.
Rachael is on maternity leave, with a plan to return to work in October 2025.
